APOLIDI I

I SHOT THIS SHORT MOVIE WHILE LIVING HOMELESS IN THE STREETS OF ROME

Shooting this movie was indeed an intense experience, I got to know the life of the homeless and the tramps living in Rome during the winter.

I teamed up with a french and a german tramp and they teached me how to live in the streets.
By the end of the month I knew a lot of people, their reason for being on the streets, and their reason for remaining there.

It was amazing to grasp how social and colourful the life on the street was, breaking the commonplace that homeless live in solitude and pure despair.

For sure their life isn't comfortable but their sacrifices give them something different back and an unique perspective about the world we live in.

SOMETIMES I ASK MYSELF WHY I'VE GOT BACK TO MY "NORMAL" LIFE

We spent our days in many ways, either paying visit to other homeless who didn't left their places much, or having firends from the streets combing by.

We drank a lot of beer, played music under the bridges along the Tiber and recycled a lot of pizza from the nearby restaurants.

We talked a lot trying to comprehend the people living a "normal" life who felt like aliens to us.
